These lively little guys were so much fun to make and they work really well together! The elephant is made from soft crushed velvet and carries a little green silk leaf in his trunk. The giraffe is made from a fabulous orange and cream spotty weave from Mood Fabrics in New York.

L.A. Ice cream truck with palm tree
Inspired by a road trip to L.A., this retro ice cream truck is cut from cream paper with miniature blue hand lettering across the side and sparkling silver wheels. The delicate palm tree is made from black sugar paper.
A large wallpaper brush was used to paint a turquoise wash behind the papercut to add a splash of Southern California summer.

New York ice cream truck
When I lived in New York, I often saw this truck on the Upper West Side. It brings back memories of hot and steamy summers in the city, a fast-melting soft serve with rainbow sprinkles, pillars of cloudless cornflower skies slipped between the elegant Art Deco apartment buildings.
The truck is cut from white and blue paper, with silver glitter wheels and red glitter lettering. The truck sits in front of a blue watercolour wash and an ink line drawing of a New York skyline.

Made from white shot silk with pink paper ripples and red fabric raspberry sauce, topped with a dark wood veneer Cadbury's Flake. The wafer cone is cut from manila envelope with a delicate layer of pattern detail. Available now in my Etsy Shop.

This pineapple was so much fun to design! It feels playful and mischievous with its spiky, messy leaves peeking over the top edge of the paper.
